Systral - Black Smoker

Systral were, for me at least, the prototypical German "metalcore" band from the 90s. Kind of a heavier, more straightforward version of what we were doing on this continent - I always liken them to Acme but with a stronger death metal influence.

Anyway, this whole LP is pretty heavy. There are some cool rocked-out Entombed parts, which are enjoyable, and tons of death metal squeals.

I have no idea what the hell any of the lyrics are or if they're in German or American but I can tell the dude is definitely pissed.

lyrics are in english and, sad but true, pretty sensless in case of most songs on this record!

Thanks for uploading this wonderful album and sharing it with us. I like it very much just as buying Generic Viagra.

I'm the dude who put this record out, and it was finally heralded as the "record you are missing out on" by Decibel Mag, 11 years after it's release. It was to me, the true evolution of grindcore and death metal meeting up with rock n' roll that we always longed for. I'll always stand by my press release that said this is the closest you'll come to the dudes from Napalm Death and Entombed having a jam session with the Hellacopters.
